My Story

Hey ya’ll! My name is Jewell Eason, owner of Buttahfly Wedding, we are a women owned minority wedding planning company located in Buffalo, NY. By day I work for a charity, but I use this company and Buttahfly Weddings to release my creativity.

Buttahfly Creations was created in 2021 after I made Mother’s Day gifts for a few of my family members. My mom posted them on Facebook, and I received over 50 orders in 2 weeks. That sparked an idea for me to start a business.

After 2 years of successful party & wedding planning, custom design items and rentals, I knew it was time to branch off and started Buttahfly Weddings! I am hoping this website will help my brides find what they are looking for easier and faster! We will still partner with Buttahfly Creations to make our custom design items but now brides can find all things wedding in one place.

What’s with the butterflies?

We chose the name Buttahfly because butterflies represent a change and our couples are going through one of the biggest changes of their lives. They are starting a new beginning and we are honored to be a part of it.

Butterflies have many stages of change and so does the wedding process. We are here to help you through every stage and ensure that your wedding day is the best day of your lives thus far!

Why Buttahfly? Well, that’s just how we say butterfly. We wanted to stick out from everyone else and this is the best way for us to be recognized. Every time we go somewhere, brides will say “oh, you’re the butterfly place but it’s spelled different!” So, we love being B-U-T-T-A-H-F-L-Y!

I LOVE to travel and have been to over 10 countries. In my junior year of college, I studied abroad in London for a few months before COVID hit.

I have 6 siblings : one sister and 5 brothers. I am technically the third oldest but I truly am the real oldest by maturity.

My favorite season is winter because I LOVEEEEE Christmas. My favorite Christmas movie is either Elf or Friday After Next.

I like themed weddings/parties. I eventually would like to be the “Queen of Themes” in Buffalo and eventually the entire US.

Even though my business is named “Buttahfly” weddings, I am TERRIFIED of butterflies. Theor wings are beautiful, but they actually freak me out.

I am a Disney Adult to the fullest! It is definitely one of my favorite places in the world to go to. I have been to Disney World and Disneyland but my goal is to visit all of the Disney’s in the world

I love music with all my heart. Everyone in my family either sings or plays and instrument and I happen to do both,

I was a sickly teenager so the summer before my freshman year of college, I got a lobectomy. Meaning I currently have 1 & 3/4 lungs.
